Tactics

  • User testing: Understanding our users and their end-to-end experience.

  • A/B Testing: Seeing how two different, yet strong design concepts perform.

  • Sharp focus on analytics: Where are users dropping? Where are they clicking and why? Where should we focus first (desktop or mobile based on traffic)?

  • Utilizing Design Systems & Proven Patterns: Building new ideas quickly and once we have established proven winners, we can reuse them and apply throughout different flows.

  • Building Culture: Inspiring designers with friendly competition with rewards to drive results. Ask me about my “UX Games.”

Praise from my team

  • "Amber is an incredibly talented leader. Her portfolio shows off her work (which is amazing), and her attitude starts with positive energy and ends with infectious enthusiasm. Amber will make you see the power of UX Design."

Mike Ewing, President of Cruise Critic

  • “I had the privilege of working under Amber at Tripadvisor on the Flights, Cars, and Cruise team. She’s one of the few managers I’ve had that went above and beyond in their efforts to support their team. Not only did she help me make huge strides as a designer, but she made a concerted effort to strengthen the group as a whole, always looking for ways to improve the design process, strengthen relationships with other teams, and make sure we were well-represented within the company. Pair her drive and results with a relentlessly cheery demeanor and you have a stellar creative director. Any team would be more than lucky to have her.”

    Andrew Cloud, Product Designer

  • “Amber is a gifted design professional with a rare combination of professionalism, empathy, and positivity. Amber managed me directly during my 9-month co-op at Tripadvisor and I couldn't have asked for a better supervisor. She was not only interested in the business' success, but also the personal wellbeing and success of each and every team member. I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Amber, because I know she will do amazing things! And I hope we are able to connect and work together again in the future.”

    Camaryn McKenzie, UI/UX Design Co-op
